Coding in Elementary Grades

Coding in Elementary Grades Rachel Carson School has been implementing coding in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade for the last 3 years. Teachers have attended professional development sponsored by Chicago Public Schools and Code.org to learn how to engage students in online and unplugged learning activities to develop computational literacy skills. We have seen coding serve as a pathway to increased student engagement and to development of critical thinking skills.
