Educating young people in urban settings is complicated. We require school leaders to be visionary, empathetic, highly accountable and infinitely patient. We challenge them to imagine the world ten…twenty…thirty years into the future – and prepare children to succeed in that uncharted territory. In this session, four passionate and innovative leaders and educators will discuss the evolution of a partnership that is transforming what it means to be career- and workforce-ready. The Wallace Foundation, Dallas Independent School District, Digital Youth Network and Big Thought are on a journey to the future – through innovative summer learning systems, digital readiness and learning pathways, and the recent launch of the Partnerships for Social and Emotional Learning Initiative, a new, multiyear effort to strengthen local partnerships that promote SEL. Join leaders of these organizations as they share their insights and vision for transforming the culture of future-ready education in Dallas.
