In the first month of the 2021-2022 school year, wildfires, hot days, and flooding disrupted school for over 1 million students, and yet the education sector has largely stayed on the sidelines of the climate fight. K12 Climate Action, a bipartisan commission with the Aspen Institute, seeks to mobilize the sector for action outlining how the sector can reduce its carbon footprint, adapt to increasing climate impacts, and support teaching and learning to ensure the rising generation is prepared to lead a sustainable future. This session explores the opportunity for policymakers, school leaders, philanthropy and more to catalyze action and help the sector advance climate solutions.
