STEAM Trunks: Mobile Makerspaces to Move Making Forward Makerspaces are a way to bring hands-on STEAM and real world connections to students of all ages. Unfortunately, most schools were built without a Makerspace and due to space, financial, and scheduling constraints, adding a special space for making remains beyond the realm of possibility. These were the exact constraints that led me to the creation of our STEAM Trunks, positioning Drew to become one of the first schools to be STEAM Certified in the state of Georgia. This presentation will introduce educators to our STEAM Trunk Mobile Makerspaces, their uses, and lessons we learned the design and implementation.
