Dr. Jeffrey Morgan

Associate Provost for Education Innovation and Technology, University of Houston

I have a long history with the University of Houston. I came here as an undergraduate student in the fall of 1976 and eventually obtained my PhD in mathematics. Afterwards, I served as a mathematics professor at Texas A&M University (main campus) for 16 years before returning to UH where I served as Department Chair in Mathematics until May 2013. During my time as chair I created and directed the Center for Academic Support and Assessment (CASA) from 2004 to present, and I helped create the teachHOUSTON High School Math/Science Teacher Training program. I have been the associate provost for education innovation and techonology at UH since May 2013 where I oversee staff managing various aspects of online instruction, continuing education, instructional design, the academic side of Canvas, software development, AI innovation, CASA and miscellaneous other things. I still teach every semester (because I enjoy it), and I continue to do research. You can see more information on my homepage at https://www.math.uh.edu/~jmorgan
