Dr. Lissy Hu, CEO of Ascend Learning, brings more than 15 years of expertise as an entrepreneur and innovator in healthcare technology. Dr. Hu’s tenure in the healthcare industry has provided her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by providers and payers across the care continuum. She has a track record of creating and growing a technology company on a national scale. In 2012, she founded CarePort, a care coordination software company that is now used by thousands of acute, post-acute and home-based providers in the United States. Dr. Hu's strategic foresight and dynamic leadership have consistently enabled her teams to anticipate customer needs and build for enduring value, effectively navigating and steering through ever-changing market dynamics. Dr. Hu and her team at Ascend are committed to delivering technology solutions that improve the development and retention of healthcare teams, which is a top priority for learners, professionals, educators, providers and payers. These solutions have never been more important given sea changes in the healthcare industry, critical educator shortages, and evolving learner expectations.Dr. Hu is a Harvard Medical School alumna, holding a Doctor of Medicine degree. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in pre-medical studies and sociology from Columbia University.
