Sal at the Shell Wednesday Night!

February 24, 2025

Digital learning pioneer and AI visionary Sal Khan will join us for a fireside chat at the 2025 ASU+GSV Summit — part of the Summit’s electric closing ceremonies on Wednesday, April 9th, at The Shell!

As Founder and CEO of nonprofit EdTech powerhouse Khan Academy, Sal Khan has revolutionized learning for millions worldwide. Khan Academy offers free lessons in math, science, and the humanities — from PreK to SAT prep — with 170M+ users across 190 countries. Sal has consistently been at the forefront of the AI Revolution in education, both through extensive thought leadership — including his 2024 book Brave New Words: How AI Will Revolutionize Education (And Why That’s a Good Thing) — and through Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s GPT-4-powered AI guide that is equal parts tutor and teaching assistant, which Sal happened to debut at the 2023 ASU+GSV Summit.

From its rubric generator to its new real-time writing coach, Khanmigo and Khan Academy are making Learning at the Speed of Light a reality for millions of students and educators, enabling personalized, mastery-focused learning at scale. Recently, Khanmigo announced a partnership with Microsoft to offer all K-12 educators in the U.S. free access to the Khanmigo for Teachers pilot, powered by Azure OpenAI Service. Khan Academy also offers cutting-edge tools for parents, teachers, and districts to track student progress. At a time when demand for evidence-based EdTech is high and student proficiency benchmarks are increasingly elusive, Khan Academy has proven that regular practice on its platform can help students narrow achievement gaps, with significant improvement shown through consistent effort.

Sal’s relentless dedication to providing a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere, is proof positive of the power of EdTech, the strength of our shared mission, and the cause for EdTech optimism in the age of AI. We’re thrilled to welcome him back to the Summit this year!
