Dr. Amy Loyd is the CEO of All4Ed, a national nonprofit organization that advances equitable systems change in education by connecting practice, policy, and innovation from the classroom to Congress. Amy’s leadership in education spans all levels—classroom, school, district, state, Tribal, and federal—bringing both policy depth and lived experience to reimagining education and its inherent interdependence with our workforce, economy, and democracy. Across her career, Amy’s work centers on the belief that education should expand opportunity, strengthen communities, and equip every learner to build a choice-filled, purposeful life. Prior to leading All4Ed, Amy served as Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education at the U.S. Department of Education, where she led federal policy on college and career pathways, career and technical education, adult education and family literacy, community and technical colleges, and correctional education, overseeing billions in federal investment. There, she launched Unlocking Career Success, a national initiative to transform high schools to be career-connected, community-engaged, and student-centered for all, with the goal of every student graduating high school with college credit, work-based learning, industry-sought credentials, and strong advising supports to launch a bright and rewarding future. Previously, she served as senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Education, leading work on rural education, Native education, White House Initiatives, and interagency collaboration. Amy began her education career as a family advocate and a math teacher for Alaska Native and Native American students in a large urban district. She went on to lead a network of small schools within 14 traditional public elementary, middle, and high schools, providing high-quality, culturally responsive, and competency-based education paired with out-of-school-time learning opportunities and wraparound supports for students and their families. Amy then went on to launch the national Pathways to Prosperity Network and she served as a vice president at Jobs for the Future leading their education-to-career, workforce development, and federal policy work. Amy attended Santa Fe Community College and Northern New Mexico Community College; she holds a bachelor’s degree from St. John's College and a doctorate in education leadership from Harvard University, where she also taught on building equitable, future-ready pathways systems.
