Annie Duong-Turner

As the Director of Grantmaking & Programs for the national nonprofit Brightbound™, Annie Duong-Turner leads the team responsible for grantmaking strategy, employee engagement and youth programs, in alignment with the organization’s mission and social impact objectives. Prior to joining Britebound, Annie served multiple roles at John Hancock, where she began working as a high school summer intern. Most recently, she was Director, Community Investment - US & Asia Lead, where she led John Hancock’s MLK Scholars Program, one of the largest corporate-sponsored summer jobs programs of its kind in the country. In partnership with the City of Boston and dozens of nonprofits, the program provided leadership and professional development workshops, financial literacy content and work-based learning opportunities for hundreds of Boston teens annually at nonprofit worksites and John Hancock’s Boston office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Suffolk University and a master’s degree in public administration from Northeastern University. A life-long learner, she has also earned graduate certificates in public policy analysis, nonprofits and social change, and is currently participating in the Rennie Center’s Massachusetts Education Policy Fellowship program.
