In this role he supervises the divisions of Special Education, Federal State Education Program, Multilingual Multicultural Education Department, Gifted and Talented Program and Student Integration Services. He is currently in his 30th year as an educator. He began his career as a general education teacher and then made the choice to earn an additional credential to work with students with disabilities as a resource teacher. In 2004 he began his career in Administration. During his professional career in LAUSD, he served students, families, teachers and administrators in Local Districts Northeast, Northwest, East, and South as well as in Central Office. His various roles as Teacher, Principal, Elementary Director, Director of Innovation districtwide, Administrator of Instruction, Senior Director in the Office of the Superintendent, and Chief of Special Education, Equity and Access has given him the opportunity to establish collaborative relationships of trust with diverse stakeholder groups with various school communities across LAUSD. In his current capacity, he oversees various divisions within the education system, including Special Education, Federal State Education Program, Multilingual Multicultural Education Department, Gifted and Talented Program, and Student Integration Services. With 26 years of experience in the field of education, his journey began as a general education teacher before taking a pivotal step to obtain an additional credential, enabling him to work with students with disabilities as a resource teacher. In 2004, he transitioned into the field of administration, marking a significant milestone in his career trajectory. Throughout his distinguished career within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), he has dedicated himself to serving students, families, teachers, and administrators across a multitude of regions. His extensive experience spans a diverse range of roles, including Teacher, Principal, Elementary Director, Director of Innovation at the district level, Administrator of Instruction, Senior Director within the Office of the Superintendent, and Chief of Special Education, Equity, and Access. In each of these capacities, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to foster collaborative relationships built on trust with a wide array of stakeholders within the diverse school communities across LAUSD.
