Asim Ali, Ph.D. is a higher education administrator skilled in operations and the mentoring of talented professionals who partner with faculty and other experts to design, deliver, support, and assess high-quality, engaging learning; this allows students to attain success and enables Auburn University to leverage technologies to expand access. As executive director of the Biggio Center, Dr. Ali advances the center’s mission of providing professional development programs, services, and resources to enhance instructional innovation, and support scholarly and creative activities.Dr. Ali co-leads Auburn’s augmented and virtual reality initiative, AUX, in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology. Dr. Ali also co-leads work on artificial intelligence for the Office of the Provost to build institutional capacity for understanding and implementing AI in teaching, learning, and business processes.Dr. Ali was the founding director of Auburn Online, where he worked to strengthen the university’s role in e-learning by providing central resources to support faculty in the development and instruction of online and hybrid education. In addition to his administrative role, Dr. Ali teaches Intro to Information Systems in the Harbert College.
