Carl Madi

Carl is the co-founder and CEO of Stepful, a New York–based edtech company focused on expanding access to healthcare careers. Stepful partners with leading health systems—including Providence, Ohio State University Physicians Group, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital—to build training pipelines that support career advancement and economic mobility for frontline workers and their communities. Under Carl’s leadership, Stepful has graduated ten of thousands of learners and was recently ranked the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. and among the Top 10 globally by TIME Magazine on its 2025 World’s Top EdTech Companies list. Carl brings over 15 years of experience scaling mission-driven startups, with leadership roles at Uber, Airbnb, and Handy. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and previously led global direct-to-consumer strategy at Handy and international expansion at Amino Apps.
