Charity Jones is the Director of Clinical Faculty and interim academic lead for City Teaching Alliance in Washington, DC. In her role, she bridges forward-looking pedagogical and adult learning theory with deep clinical practice through faculty and staff development and collaboration, innovative program design, and sustained engagement with our educators and classrooms. Her professional career includes experience as an educational consultant, restorative practices facilitator, coach, director of clinical faculty at Johns Hopkins University’s Graduate School of Education, public school leader, principal in K-12 urban education settings, senior professorial lecturer at American University, and public school teacher with over 25 years of experience in secondary education and an intentional focus in underserved communities. Her academic career includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, a Master of Science degree in educational leadership and administration from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, along with professional certifications in elementary and secondary school principalship, secondary education with a major in English and a minor in speech, instructional coaching, and completion of a certification program to serve as a trainer in restorative practices.
