Point B

As the co-founder of My Point B, Diane Tavenner continues to pioneer a new vision for education in America. During her twenty years as the co-founder and CEO of Summit Public Schools, a nationally-recognized nonprofit, Diane developed a school model centered on real-world experiences, self-direction, collaboration, and reflection--preparing all students to succeed in college, thrive in today’s workplace, and lead a secure and fulfilled life. For her next chapter, she is focused on the problem that the majority of Americans get no support planning life after high school. As a result, most young people fail to launch into purposeful activity, sometimes for years, often accruing debt. Her new company, My Point B, is creating an impactful guided journey for young people delivered by a platform that connects K-12 schools, post secondary learning providers, employers, and talent. She is the author of the best selling book Prepared: What Kids Need for a Fulfilled Life, and co-hosts the Class Disrupted podcast with Michael Horn. Diane serves as the board chair for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, Pahara Institute and Minerva University, and is a board member of Transcend Education. She is a moderator in the Aspen Global Leadership Network and member of the Barbary Coast/Exiles Chapter of YPO International.
