Dr. Greg Chung

Dr. Gregory Chung is Associate Director for Technology and Research Innovation. Dr. Chung has successfully managed multiple large-scale efficacy studies in school settings. He has extensive experience with the use of technology for learning and assessment. He was co-PI for the IES-funded Instructional Technology Center, where he led the design, testing, and RCT of math video games and assessments for middle school with an emphasis on lower achieving student groups. He is PI on a current IES exploratory grant to develop telemetry-based measures of CT processes with codeSpark Academy. He has conducted instructional technology R&D for the Office of Naval Research (ONR), PBS KIDS Digital, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and numerous foundations and commercial vendors. Dr. Chung led the design and testing of computer-based games and assessments for the DARPA-funded ENGAGE project, integrating CCSS-based content with social and emotional skills and led the evaluation of intelligent tutoring systems funded by ONR. His current work is with PBS KIDS, where as PI he leads the development of telemetry for PBS KIDS’ games (preK to 2), and measurement and efficacy studies of their games.
