Dr. Mokyr Horner is a Senior Program Officer in Early Learning at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. With over 10 years of experience in non-profit, government, and foundation sectors, she has expertise in data analysis, econometrics, and program evaluation in the health and education domains.In her current role, she manages a portfolio to improve the data and decision frameworks available to teachers and systems. Her portfolio includes initiatives that aim to develop and test innovative, equitable, and developmentally appropriate assessment tools for children in pre-K and early grades. She also supports the development and integration of bleeding edge technologies to improve early education tools, and the aggregation and dissemination of best practices for measuring non-academic skills, such as social and emotional development and relationship with school. Dr. Mokyr Horner is passionate about empowering teachers with the tools they need to help children succeed, and ensuring that all children can thrive in school and in life, regardless of their background or circumstances.
