Enoch Ellis is an MIT student pursuing dual degrees in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics. He previously served as MIT Student Body President and currently represents the undergraduate body on MIT’s Corporation Joint Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Harvard–MIT Cooperative Society, the world’s oldest college bookstore. Enoch’s research spans sustainable energy, education, and public policy, including novel approaches to clean hydrogen production, the impact of education attainment on national patient outcomes, and economic analyses of Medicaid and Medicare programs. A decorated athlete, Enoch is an NCAA All-American, a Division III National Champion in the 110-meter hurdles, a Rhodes Scholar finalist, and a Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Beyond athletics, he is deeply committed to expanding access to education. He has published an intercollegiate op-ed in The New York Times on college affordability and appears in the PBS documentary Roadtrip Nation: Black Men in Higher Education, where he shares his academic journey alongside other Black men breaking barriers in higher education.
