Governor Glenn Youngkin has been a champion for educational excellence and parents' rights since day one. A proud Virginian, he has focused on transforming Virginia’s education system to prioritize students, enable transparency and accountability, and empower parents. Under his leadership, Virginia has made historic investments in education, including 18% teacher raises, launched college partnership lab schools, and introduced seat-time flexibility. Youngkin continues to be the only governor with education guidance on AI use in early childhood, K-12, and higher education while implementing Cell Phone-Free Education with Executive Order 33 to help restore childhood and improve student learning. Governor Youngkin has put parents at the forefront of educational reform, ensuring they have a voice in their children’s education. His efforts have renewed focus on career and technical education, reformed Virginia’s school accreditation process, and made Virginia’s public schools more innovative and responsive to student needs. Youngkin launched the “ALL In Virginia” comprehensive plan to address learning loss from pandemic-related closures, improve attendance, and accelerate the Virginia Literacy Act. He continues to advocate for education options that benefit all families across the Commonwealth so every student is ready for life.
