Jeremy Nishihara is the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Information Systems for the Sunnyvale School District. In this role since 2016, he oversees the security, integration, and access of information/data systems throughout the District. In addition, he leads the student assignment department and performs numerous Human Resource functions, including negotiations, hiring, and personnel issues. Prior to this position, he served as the Communications Director and Chief Information Officer for the Cupertino Union School District for 13 years. He has also served for 10 years as an elected member of the Board of Trustees for the Oak Grove School District from 2006 to 2016. He received his undergraduate degree in Managerial Economics from U.C. Davis and is a graduate of the CITE CTO Mentor Program - Cohort 13 in 2019. He earned a CASBO CBO certification and is a CoSN Certified Educational Technology Leader. In addition to his work in the public education sector, he takes pride in serving the community as a Board Member for the San Jose Taiko Group, a Board Member for the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project and as a Board President for Sunnyvale Community Services.
