Jigyasa Labroo is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Slam Out Loud. Slam Out Loud transforms how arts education and socio-emotional learning happen for underserved children in India. SOL uses poetry, storytelling, theater, and visual arts to build Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in children. Slam Out Loud trains teachers in public schools to build SEL through their weekly art classes. Children build skills in imagination, analytical thinking, curiosity, with 75% of children showing annual competency growth helping them to achieve better life outcomes. Additionally, Slam Out Loud places fellows in art classes transform young professionals into world-class art-educators. Jigyasa is an Echoing Green fellow, has been an Emerging Education Leader with WISE, a global 30 Under 30 nominee of the International Literacy Association, and a Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 awardee in the social impact category. Jigyasa studied Learning Design as a KC Mahindra scholar at Harvard Graduate School of Education She was one of the 2021 winners of Falling Walls in Berlin and was awarded Innovator of the Year 2023 by HundrED. Jigyasa believes deeply in the power of finding one’s voice and engages with music, travel, and coaching to evolve hers constantly.
