Laura Slover is the managing director of Skills for the Future, a joint endeavor of ETS and The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching to radically transform education from time-based to competency-based and to build an undergirding assessment system to capture evidence of what’s most important for success in high school, postsecondary education, and jobs in the 21st-century economy. Previously, Laura was the founder and CEO of CenterPoint Education Solutions, which specializes in formative and benchmark assessments and educator supports. Prior to that, she was the founding CEO of the Partnership for Assessment of College and Careers (PARCC) Inc., a consortium of states measuring what matters for college and careers. Laura began her career in education as a high school English teacher in Colorado and then spent 16 years at Achieve, supporting states in building systems of quality academic standards, assessments, and accountability. A native Washingtonian, she was elected twice to the District of Columbia State Board of Education and is an Aspen-Pahara Fellow.
