
Maurice DuBois is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, most recently serving as co-anchor of "The CBS Evening News.” Previously, he anchored and reported at television stations in New York, Chicago, Sacramento and Seattle. Throughout his career, DuBois has covered numerous breaking news stories — everything from local news to national political conventions and elections, AIDS in South Africa, 9/11 and papal transition at the Vatican. He has moderated debates for New York governor, New York City mayor and Congress. DuBois has interviewed newsmakers from a broad spectrum of American life and culture, including "Son of Sam" killer David Berkowitz, music star CardiB, NBA Hall-of-famer Allen Iverson and the Central Park Five. He also witnessed and reported on a double execution. He has hosted specials on mental health, kids and violence, the origins of hip-hop, breast cancer and ticker-tape parades and telethons. DuBois has won several journalism and community awards, including five Emmys. He's also been recognized with honors from The Associated Press, The New York State Broadcasters Association and The New York Association of Black Journalists, which honored him with its Trailblazer Award. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including Access Psychology Foundation, NY City Center, PENCIL, Susan G. Komen for the Cure/NYC and The Northside Center for Child Development. DuBois is a graduate of Northwestern University, has four honorary PhDs and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a proud husband and father of two sons.
