
Megan Ashley-King Mitchell is a sixth-grade educator at ABC Unified School District with over a decade of experience. As an American Federation of Teachers National Trainer, she specializes in Facilitating Equity-Based Professional Learning and Universal Design for Learning, collaborating with educational leaders nationwide to design transformative professional development. She also serves as part-time Director of Community for Snorkl, an AI-powered educational assessment platform. As Vice President of Elementary Schools for the ABC Unified Federation of Teachers Union, AFT Local 2317, she advocates for systemic change centered on equity and inclusion. A co-founder of the Whitney High School Black Alumni Association and the ABCUSD Black Family Circle, her advocacy work is driven by her belief in Jesus Christ. She serves on the executive board as Journalist for the Cerritos Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Her leadership has been recognized with honors including Teacher of the Year (2017-2018) and the 2023 Women of Distinction Award from Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva. Megan is a devoted wife, mother, and caretaker for her mother, a retired educator.
