As a Special Education teacher and EdTech enthusiast, I bring a unique perspective shaped by teaching across California's diverse educational landscape - from some of the nation's most affluent districts to schools serving low socioeconomic communities. Currently teaching Math and Science to students with special needs at Lawson Middle School in Cupertino, I'm pioneering the use of AI tools to transform how students with special needs learn complex subjects. My professional journey includes teaching credentials in Special Education, English, Theatre Arts, and Instructional Design, allowing me to create engaging, multi-modal learning experiences for students across all backgrounds. My recent projects include developing AI-enhanced medical education programs that make science accessible and engaging for diverse learners. My educational foundation includes a Master's in Education and Single Subject English Credential with EL Authorization from UCLA, a Special Education Credential from San Jose State University, and my undergraduate degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. This diverse experience teaching throughout California has given me unique insights into educational equity and the power of innovative teaching methods to bridge opportunity gaps. I'm passionate about leveraging technology to create inclusive educational experiences that meet the diverse needs of all students, drawing on my background in theatre, English, special education, and instructional design to create dynamic learning environments that work for every student, regardless of their circumstances.
