
Robin Cowie is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Skillmaker.AI, an immersive training company built to bring AAA-level engagement to workforce development. A co-founder of Haxan Films, he helped create nine internationally distributed films and two TV series and produced "The Blair Witch Project"—the breakthrough phenomenon that became the highest‑grossing independent film of its time and helped redefine how audiences experience stories. Cowie has raised more than $20 million in private equity financing and has led multidisciplinary teams across entertainment, interactive media, and education—pairing creative vision with hands-on technical execution. As Chief Technology Officer at Promising People, he pioneered the Electrical Helper Program, using virtual reality to modernize electrician and vocational training and proving how scalable simulations can accelerate time-to-competency while improving safety and consistency. At Electronic Arts, Cowie served as Senior Narrative Producer on six AAA titles, including EA Sports "Madden Football". He further expanded his innovation toolkit in EA’s SEED (Search for Extraordinary Experiences) division, exploring the frontiers of XR and AI. As Partner and Director of Technology at HELO, he delivered “phygital” experiences for major brands including McDonald’s, Amazon, and Netflix, and has supported launches such as Nickelodeon Studios, The Golf Channel, The Disney Institute, and the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. With Skillmaker.AI, Cowie is uniting narrative craft, game design, VR/XR, and AI to deliver immersive, data-driven training that turns complex tasks into measurable performance.
