Robin Winder

Chief Academic Officer

FlexPoint and Florida Virtual School

Across the country, families and school systems are turning to more flexible, personalized learning options — and Robin Winder has helped lead that movement. Her work has helped establish a national model for virtual education that is scalable, innovative, and firmly rooted in student success. Since joining Florida Virtual School (FLVS) in 2003, when online learning was still emerging, Winder has championed a student‑centered approach to digital instruction. She saw early on that virtual learning could offer deeper, more individualized relationships with students, a belief that has guided her leadership for more than two decades. Today, as Chief Academic Officer for FlexPoint and FLVS, she oversees academic strategy and instructional design for programs serving hundreds of thousands of K–12 students and supporting schools and districts in all 50 states. Her portfolio includes FLVS Full Time and FLVS Flex, Virtual Learning Labs, Blended Learning Communities, FlexPoint Virtual School, and the Florida Scholars Academy, each designed to expand access to high‑quality, personalized learning at scale. Winder’s leadership has driven transformative initiatives, including the creation of Florida’s first unified school district for students in the care of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, where she built the district’s governance and instructional models to ensure more than 2,300 students had access to rigorous, relationship‑centered learning. She also leads systemwide work in curriculum development, student services, exceptional education, academic integrity, and school safety and mental health, ensuring that FlexPoint and FLVS deliver consistent, high‑quality experiences for learners nationwide. Winder holds a Master of Education in educational leadership from the University of West Florida and a Bachelor of Science in social studies education from the University of Central Florida, as well as principal and educational leadership certifications.
