Shailendra Sharma is Principal Advisor to Director Education, Government of NCT DelhiFor the last 8 years, he has been working closely with the office of Education Minister & Directorate of Education in planning and execution of all major education reforms of Delhi Government.These reforms are intricately linked with re-shaping the public school system in Delhi, encompassing transformation of school infrastructure, strengthening school-community partnership, capacity development of principals & teachers and curriculum reforms. Shailendra has closely worked with SCERT Delhi, Directorate of Education & Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy of children in elementary grades. He played a vital role in the introduction of mindset curricula across all schools of Delhi Government. These mindset curricula comprises of Happiness Curriculum, Entrepreneurship Mindset curriculum and Deshbhakti (citizenship education). It seeks to strengthen the social emotional skills, resilience and value system among children. Prior to that, for about 20 years, Shailendra has been an Education practitioner at Pratham, one of the largest organisation in India to improve the quality of children’s education. He has been a member of the Education Policy Network and fellow at Salzburg Global Seminar.Shailendra is a Social Work graduate from Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai and has studied Law from Delhi University
