
Dr. Tina Manglicmot is a passionate advocate for equity and innovation in education and serves as Executive Director of CodeVA, where she leads the organization’s mission to ensure every learner in Virginia has access to high-quality computer science education. Under her leadership, CodeVA partners with schools, educators, families, and communities to expand computer science opportunities, develop curriculum and professional learning, and elevate the role of computing in student success and future workforce readiness. In addition to her work at CodeVA, Tina is co-chair of the Virginia Leads Innovation Network (VaLIN), a statewide collaborative advancing instructional innovation and equity through networks of school division teams implementing the Profile of a Virginia Graduate. Through this work, she supports deep learning, student engagement, and equitable access to meaningful, future-ready learning experiences across Virginia’s public schools. Prior to her current roles, Tina held key instructional and leadership positions in Virginia public education, including Chief Academic Officer for Newport News Public Schools and Director of STEM and Innovation at the Virginia Department of Education. In these roles, she advanced system-level policy and practice, strengthened educator capacity, and championed approaches that center authentic, student-centered learning. A lifelong learner and educator, Tina holds a doctorate in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership. Her work is grounded in the belief that equitable, innovative learning experiences prepare students not only for careers in a digital world, but for full participation as critical thinkers, collaborators, and changemakers. She lives in Virginia with her family and remains deeply committed to the power of collective action to transform education.
