
An encouraging and enthusiastic educator and leader, Dr. Jones is the founding Dean of the School of Health Professions at National University. Dr. Jones brings empathy to her role leading faculty, having served more than 20 years as an award-winning faculty member in both online and traditional environments. Her leadership model focuses on removing barriers to excellence in education. She is passionate about being the catalyst that helps faculty and students succeed and achieve their goals. This contributes to her supporting the use of emerging technologies in degree programs, including the use of virtual reality and simulations in the various nursing programs within the School of Health Professions. Just as she works to ensure her School offers student-centered education, she also works to ensure the School of Health Professions is training its students to be adept at person-centered care once they graduate. Her research has focused on student preparedness and competency-based education. Her area of expertise includes developing programs and courses that engage students in skill-based, rich learning experiences. She earned her Ph.D. in Health Services – Healthcare Administration from Walden University, and her Master of Education in Community Health Education and Bachelor of Science in Education – Community Health Education from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
