470 Million Reasons: How Can We Build Higher Education Capacity Around the World?

UNESCO data suggests that in the next 15 years demand for higher education will more than double, creating a need to educate more than 470 million students. Using a traditional university model, the world would need to build 8 new universities of 40,000 students every week between now and then. Featuring distinguished leaders from government, higher education, and the entrepreneurial community, this panel will discuss and debate various public and private approaches to knowledge building and capability development in global higher education ecosystems, identify where gaps still exist, and examine the imperative of deploying new models to meet this unprecedented demand.
