Our education and workforce systems have failed America’s low income high school graduates. Students today face a false choice upon receiving their high school diploma: (a.) forestall income to pursue education and accrue significant debt; or (b.) forestall education & mobility and pursue low-wage, non-upwardly mobile work. Propel America aspires to develop a 3rd way by empowering recent high school graduates with the skills, credentials, experiences, and social networks required to achieve economic stability and mobility through a strong first job within one year of graduation.
Panelists/Participants: John White, State Superintendent, Louisiana Department of Education; Paymon Rouhanifard, Founder & CEO, Propel America
