Retaining Your Best Teachers AND Paying Them More
Given our nation's teacher pipeline shortage, it is nearly impossible to find a highly effective teacher for every classroom. However, there are highly effective teachers in every school building achieving great results with their students year after year. Rather than trying to find more teachers every year, how can schools redefine what it means to be a teacher and expand the impact of existing talent to reach more students while paying them more? Five years ago, Ranson IB was one of the first schools in the nation to answer this question by creating an Opportunity Culture through a partnership with an organization called Public Impact. The answer we discovered was as a new position called a Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL). Learn more about this innovative role and the profound impact it has had on Ranson IB's school community.
