Dr. Erik Torres’s dedication to K-12 education is rooted in a profound "full-circle" journey that began in the very classrooms he eventually returned to lead. This personal connection to the student experience fuels his conviction that education is the ultimate engine for equity and social mobility. Throughout his career, Dr. Torres has transitioned from a passionate campus leader to a systemic innovator, consistently bridging the gap between classroom instruction and large-scale academic strategy. His trajectory is defined by a commitment to the "whole child," ensuring that every student is granted the diverse choices and opportunities necessary to thrive in college, career, and life.Currently serving as the Chief Academic and Innovation Officer for Pflugerville ISD, Dr. Torres oversees a broad portfolio of academic and innovation departments, where he specializes in scaling high-quality instructional materials and pioneering future-ready learning models. His leadership focuses on aligning strategic vision with sustainable execution, building on his previous experience as the Director of Transformational Learning Programs for Aldine ISD and a Strategic Scheduling Manager at the Texas Education Agency. Having also served as Principal within Aldine ISD, Dr. Torres integrates modern technology guidelines with restorative justice frameworks to advocate for systemic excellence. He remains a steadfast champion for educational transformation, dedicated to preparing the next generation of learners for the complexities of a global economy.
