Dr. Kelly Coffin has been in education for 30 years, serving as an educator in both general education and special education, a building administrator at the elementary and secondary level, local and intermediate school district assistant superintendent, adjunct professor for Eastern Michigan University’s Leadership and Counseling department, and a local district superintendent. Kelly is involved in many organizations, including a founding and current board member of the Michigan Future of Learning Council, a group of K-12 superintendents and district level leaders committed to personalized, competency based learning. Kelly also has worked most recently with Michigan Virtual to support educators in the work of embracing remote/virtual learning and adopting a learning management system to enhance the K-12 instructional delivery model across the educational system. Professional publications include the book Necessary Leadership (2018).
Kelly currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Innovation and Strategic Initiatives at Farmington Public Schools in Farmington, Michigan.
