
Dr. Susan Stevens serves as the Associate Superintendent of Academics for Greenville County Schools, bringing extensive experience and a proven record of educational leadership. Her career in education began in 2006 following a successful tenure as a corporate research scientist. She taught at Fountain Inn Elementary before moving into administration in 2012 as Assistant Administrator at Alexander Elementary School. Dr. Stevens advanced through leadership roles marked by innovation and measurable student success, including Assistant Principal at Greenview Child Development Center and Principal overseeing six Child Development Centers, where she strengthened early learning programs districtwide. In 2017, she became Principal of A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering, leading the school from an ATSI designation to a National Blue Ribbon Award within three years, with double-digit gains in literacy, math, and science.In 2021, she joined the District’s Academics Department as Director of Early Intervention and Elementary Student Support, later serving as Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership. Now, as Associate Superintendent for Academics, she applies her deep expertise and strategic vision to advance academic excellence for all students. Dr. Stevens holds a B.S. in Biology and Visual Arts from Moravian University, an M.Ed. from Southern Wesleyan University, and both an Ed.S. and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from South Carolina State University.
