Kerry Western is Director of Teaching, Learning and Digital at The BRIT School in London, a high-performing state secondary school specialising in the creative arts with strong industry links and a track record of developing diverse talent, including globally recognised alumni.Her work sits at the intersection of education, industry and technology. With a degree in Computer Science and a background in digital arts, media, and TV production for major broadcasters, she brings current industry practice into the classroom to prepare students for both creative careers and further study.Kerry is motivated by how technology changes who gets access to opportunity. She focuses on ensuring students develop the confidence and technical fluency to use AI and digital tools as part of their creative work. Her approach centres on giving students space to experiment, test ideas and take risks, within clear structures that support authorship, accountability, and safe use.As a Google Certified Innovator she leads AI strategy, staff development and student guidance, aligning practice with awarding body expectations and industry use.
