Bahr has over 37 years of experience as an educator. She began her career as a classroom teacher, became a principal and worked her way up to Director of Middle Schools and the Mt. Tahoma Regional Director for Tacoma Public Schools. Bahr earned her Master of Education degree at City University, her Bachelor of Arts from Pacific Lutheran University, and her Superintendent Certification from Washington State University. Prior to coming to the Peninsula School District, Bahr was Superintendent of the Eatonville School District for 8 years. Bahr has twice been nominated for the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Superintendent of the Year. Since joining the Peninsula School District, Bahr has been awarded the Leader of Distinction for 2023 by the Washington Association of School Business Officials. She also serves on the Professional Educator Standards Board for the state of Washington and as a Governing and Executive Board member of AASA for the state of Washington and currently Region 1 West Coast. Bahr helped secure Arts Impact grants and Mastery Based Learning grants for our elementary schools, and Pioneer Elementary was chosen by the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) as a STEM Lighthouse School for 2021, and in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, a Green Leader School for 2023. Swift Water Elementary, Voyager Elementary, and Evergreen Elementary were awarded Washington state Green Leader Schools by OSPI. In 2025, Peninsula was named as a League of Innovative School awardee, as well as one of 2 national performance drone teams and a Boeing Museum of Flight Aviation Academy. Bahr has been married for 41 years to her husband, Bryon. They have three grown children, and four grandchildren.
