Naomi Norman is Superintendent of Washtenaw ISD, a regional service agency providing educational leadership with a focus on equity in Washtenaw County. Naomi has served as the chair of the Governor’s PreK-12 Literacy Commission and was also a founding co-chair of the MAISA Early Literacy Task Force, a statewide group organized to address instructional and system needs for literacy improvement in the state. Her career has focused on addressing systemic inequities – first through creating professional learning systems for educators that reach every school building then through building schools that are innovative and serve a diverse student body and more recently by focusing on the cultural shifts needed to ensure educational justice for all students.
