Tom Wade

Tom Wade is the Director of Digital Innovation and Enterprise at Haileybury. Having taught for 17 years across the independent and state sector, Tom joined Haileybury in January 2019 as Head of Philosophy before progressing to Assistant Head Digital Strategy and Learning. Tom has led the school's digital strategy to its current maturity, with his vision being to ensure Haileybury not only reacts to technological shifts but actively shapes the educational landscape. His leadership is anchored in the model of 'intent first, then pedagogy, then tools,' which has delivered high-impact platforms such as the Pupil Hub and the Learning Resource Hub, as well as launching the Digital Innovations curriculum.Tom is a pioneer in integrating AI into core strategy, achieving the Gold AI Quality Mark from the Good Future Foundation, an accreditation held by only three schools worldwide. Haileybury has also achieved Google Reference school status and is now an Apple Distinguished school. He has strengthened Haileybury’s credibility internationally as a founding member of the Pedtech Partnership and an international speaker at conferences such as ISTE in Texas and BETT in London. Tom is committed to anchoring innovation in rigorous safeguarding while equipping pupils with critical skills in ethical discernment and enterprise. Outside of work, he’s married with three wonderful children and enjoys spending as much time outdoors with them as possible.
