
Vanessa Sifuentes is the Deputy Chief of Post-Secondary Readiness for the Oakland Unified School District, where she leads the High School Network, Linked Learning Office, Counseling, and Post-Secondary Readiness initiatives. She is dedicated to ensuring all students have access to a rigorous, relevant education that prepares them for a wide range of post-secondary opportunities.A seasoned educator and leader, Ms. Sifuentes has shaped districtwide strategies to improve graduation rates, expand A–G completion, and expand access to Linked Learning pathways. Prior to her current role, she served as High School Network Superintendent and Executive Director of Instruction, coaching principals and leading professional development across the high school network.Before joining OUSD, she was Managing Director of Teach For America – Oakland, supporting over 100 educators, and previously served as a principal and teacher in San Jose and East Oakland.Ms. Sifuentes holds a BA in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies from UCLA and an MA in Education from UC Berkeley.
