Currently serving as the first Chief Financial Officer of OpenAI, Sarah Friar has previously served as CEO of Nextdoor and CFO of Block (formerly Square), where she led its initial public offering in 2015 and added $30B in market cap. Sarah currently sits on the board of directors of Walmart and Consensys, as well as on the advisory boards of HOPE Global, the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, and the Digital Economy Lab at Stanford University. In 2019, she was granted an OBE from Queen Elizabeth II for her services to entrepreneurship. She is also the co-founder of Ladies Who Launch, a nonprofit that celebrates and empowers women entrepreneurs.
