From Classroom to Sky: Building the World’s First Student-Run Drone Performance Team

This session explores how the Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools created the world’s first fully student-run Drone Performance Team—a scalable, FAA-approved model that blends career-connected learning, emerging technology, and real-world production. Attendees will learn how high school students design, animate, plan, and safely fly large-scale drone light shows for paying clients while meeting strict regulatory, technical, and safety requirements. The presentation outlines curriculum design, student roles, industry partnerships, and the operational systems that enable consistent, professional-grade performances.
