Bringing the Liberal Arts to Life

UATX's Center for Education and Public Service will bring together a rigorous liberal arts curriculum with paid hands-on experience for undergraduates seeking to work as teachers, public servants, and educational entrepreneurs. The liberal arts does not need to orient itself to vocational ends for institutions to do a better job of helping students to bring their talents to bear in the real world. Likewise, vocational programs do not need to become seat-time oriented to suit poorly constructed academic goals. Properly understood, both modes of education can teach virtues that enable flourishing in every dimension of life.

In this session, learn more about how CEPS is designing experiences for students that allow them to work with local schools, entrepreneurs, and policymakers so that they can refine their professional goals while bringing a deeply humane approach to domains that are often siloed and over-credentialized.
