Funding the Future of Learning & Work: How the NSF is Supporting Emerging Industries

The bipartisan multi-billion dollar CHIPS and Science Act created the first new arm of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) in over thirty years. Since CHIPS, the NSF's Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships Directorate has launched new funding programs to promote technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-based economic development nationwide, focusing on fostering a robust STEM workforce. Under the directorate's programs and initiative, the agency has created new opportunities for universities, community colleges, K-12, workforce developers, labor, and employers to support the alignment of emerging technology and talent development nationwide. This spring, the federal agency joined New America's Future of Work and Innovation Economy program to unveil its first-ever workforce strategy for emerging technologies and industries. Join this session to hear from NSF, policy, philanthropy, and industry experts for actionable insights into how these resources can help unlock what NSF Director Sethurman Panchanthan calls "innovation everywhere, opportunities anywhere.”
