Akilah Allen is the Director of R&D Strategy and Projects in the Center for Inclusive Innovation at Digital Promise where she leads strategy, management, and execution of the inclusive innovation project portfolio to support school districts and communities in transforming education. Akilah’s experience includes K-12 education philanthropic strategy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, research on family, school, and community engagement at the Brookings Institution, global education in Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa at USAID, state and district school system improvement in Washington, DC, and as a kindergarten teacher in New York City Public Schools.
Akilah began her career on Wall Street at Goldman Sachs. She earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College, Master in Education from the City University of New York, and her Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
