Alex Sarlin is the founder and host of EdTech Insiders, the leading newsletter and podcast covering the global education technology industry, read by EdTech leaders at Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, and major venture capital firms including GSV Ventures, Reach Capital, and Owl Ventures. With over 15 years of experience as a product manager and learning engineer at major companies including Coursera, 2U, Skillshare, and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Alex has been at the forefront of educational innovation, holding patents in online learning systems and leading teams that have impacted millions of learners worldwide. Currently serving as Senior Advisor at Cambiar Education, Alex leads discovery programs focused on transformative edtech companies, with a particular emphasis on AI initiatives in education. He has built and advised a cohort of innovative AI-powered startups including Diffit and other cutting-edge platforms, while providing strategic consultation to 70+ companies in the education technology space. As creator and maintainer of the EdTech Insiders Generative AI Map, Alex tracks and analyzes the rapidly evolving landscape of AI integration in education, regularly interviewing AI pioneers and education leaders to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping learning at scale. He holds an Executive MBA from Quantic and an MA in Instructional Design and Technology from Columbia University.
