Dr Alison Gurganus is a Faculty Specialist for Emerging Technology with the Office of Institutional Innovation and Effectiveness at the San Diego Community College District she has also been the Online Services Librarian for San Diego Mesa College since 2007. Additionally, she is the current President for the Council of Chief Librarians which is an organization that advocates, negotiates and provides professional development opportunities for the 116 California Community College libraries and their employees. In 2022-2023 Dr. Gurganus was a faculty fellow with the Stanford University Global Studies department and in 2019 she attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians. She received her Masters in Library Science from San Jose State University and her Doctor of Education in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University. Her experience and deep commitment to advancing educational innovation in higher education allows her to provide a unique perspective on the intersection of education, technology and information literacy.
