Aneesh Sohoni

Aneesh Sohoni has served as Chief Executive Officer of Teach For America since April 2025, leading a network of over 70,000 leaders working from every sector to ensure that all children have the access and opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams. Inspired by his immigrant parents and the transformative power of education, Aneesh began his career as a high school English teacher through Teach For America. His experiences in the classroom ignited his passion for ensuring all students have access to opportunities that unlock their full potential. Aneesh previously served as the CEO of One Million Degrees (OMD), a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating the progress of community college students towards economic mobility. Prior to this role, he gained valuable experience in the public and nonprofit sectors, working on education reform initiatives in Tennessee, Camden, New Jersey, and Boston, Massachusetts. He also served as the Executive Director for Teach For America in Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Aneesh is the recipient of the 2024 Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership from Teach For America and has been recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 for education. He is a Pahara Fellow, a 2019 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, and a member of The Economic Club of Chicago.
