People Trust Community Federal Credit Union

Arlo Washington has been the Founder and President of People Trust CommunityLoan Fund since its establishment in 2016. The organization is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution through the U.S. Treasury’s CDFI Fund. In September 2022, Arlo chartered PeopleTrust Community Federal Credit Union, where he presently holds the positions of president and CEO. Throughout 2021, People Trust Community Loan Fund played a crucial role by distributing a significant sum of $50 million through the Paycheck Protection Program to over 2600 small businesses across the nation, providing essential relief during the pandemic. Arlo Washington's mission centers on bridging the divide between access to financial services and achieving positive personal financial outcomes, with a dedicated focus on enhancing credit accessibility and alleviating poverty. In a notable highlight, Arlo was prominently featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary short film, "The Barber of Little Rock,” released in 2023. This insightful documentary delves into America's expanding racial wealth gap, chronicling Arlo’s transition from a local barber to a visionary leader shaping a fair economy. This journey mirrors the missions of both People Trust Community Loan Fund and People Trust Community Federal Credit Union, which strive to promote economic justice. In addition to his impactful pursuits, Arlo serves as the founding President of Washington Barber College Incorporated.
