Arturo Cherbowski Lask has dedicated over 20 years to advancing higher education in Mexico, specializing in educational innovation, internationalization, and academic mobility. His career has positioned him as a leader in shaping policies, fostering collaboration, and promoting transformative initiatives that benefit both educational institutions and society. He has been an active participant in numerous national and international forums, contributing his expertise to initiatives that drive meaningful impact in the academic community.
In recognition of his contributions, he was honored with the 2024 CASE James L. Fisher Award for Distinguished Service to Education by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and received an Honorary Doctorate from Caucasus University in Georgia.
As Executive Director of Santander Universities and General Director of Universia in Mexico, he spearheads projects that support universities and their communities. His work focuses on promoting entrepreneurship, fostering educational innovation, advancing digital transformation, and facilitating scholarship programs, research chairs, and strategic partnerships. Additionally, he oversees financial services designed to benefit the university community.
Born in Mexico City, Arturo is a political scientist from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a master’s and a doctorate from Yale University.
